When Colbie was born, my biggest enemy became time.
I couldn't bare the thought of this sweet, perfect little newborn getting older. I remember bawling in my land lady's living room when she started talking about Colbie growing up. I was desperate to stop time before she got to big milestones like 6 months... or 12 months... or even (gasp!) 18 months.
But that baby grew...
And grew.
With her first two birthdays, we celebrated her and were grateful that she was happy and healthy.
But I was also so sad to be losing a little bit more of my baby every year.
This year was different.
This year, I didn't feel any sadness or desperation from time going by too fast. I could simply celebrate my Baby Girl and the person she is growing into.
She is my little buddy. We get to do everything together.
And when she pretends to be Rapunzel, her daddy is her Flynn Rider.
She is the girliest girl and loves to dress up. She loves to be in the kitchen cooking and baking and describes her food to me after she eats it.
Everything is always, "Creamy, delicious, and delightful."
She loves to run around and play. She loves to be chased and, my most favorite, she loves to laugh.
She is a little pack rat and loves to hide her treasures and, sometimes, herself.
We think she's pretty cool and we love having her around.
Happy Birthday to my big (baby) girl! We are having so much fun watching you grow up.
