Our Little Toddler...

This little nugget will be 20 months old on Sunday and I'm not sure how I feel about it! This past week has felt like she flipped a switch from "Baby" to "Big Kid." Not sure what it is, but it's like everything she does is seems extra cute and extra old.

She loves eating cereal, bananas (or any fruit), chicken, and Gatorade. She tolerates milk (only Whole... won't touch 2%) and tomatoes. Hates vegetables. LOVES sugar (She's her mommy's daughter).

Colbie sleeps like a champ and rarely puts up a fight for bedtime or naptime. She loves her crib at home, but hates the crib at Nana's house. Last weekend we ended up taking the crib mattress out and wedging it between the bed and the wall. We thought it was a long shot (we were that desperate for a good night's sleep) but it worked like a charm!

She loves her tubby time with bubbles and splashes like a mad woman! Seriously... I never have to mop that bathroom.

(Nevermind my stupid line...)

This kid is busy, busy! She loves to go shopping because that means big, open spaces with lots of room to run around and lots of things to touch. We have become pretty frequent visitors of City Creek and its splash pad. Also still loves Liberty Park and The Aviary.

She loves animals SO MUCH.

She talks up a storm. It is so nice to be able to communicate and to be able to have her verbalize what she wants.

When she's in the mood, she gives the BEST LOVES.

We are so in love with our sweet little {big} girl!

First Year... Check!

Today is Cam's last final, which means we survived the first year of law school!

Barely...

But we survived!

Here are a few things I've learned from this first year.

1- Say goodbye to your husband and you'll see him in three years.

2- There's really no such thing as a Saturday or a summer.

3- Torts cases are AWESOME. (One guy shot another guy with an arrow in the rafters of a garage after the shot guy set the arrow guy's house on fire with him in it. You can't make this stuff up.)

4- Law school can result in a more analytical husband when you present hypothetical situations.

5- Never underestimate what the body will do in response to stress. (During finals during Fall Semester, Cam broke out in hives over his entire body. During spring midterms, he broke out in a rash and had to get a shot.)

6- After helping a husband study, you can learn certain useless cool things about the law.

7- It might suck to be poor for an additional three years, but this is also a great time in life. We definitely appreciate the simple things more and we definitely cherish the time that we do get to spend with Cam.

8- There are great blessings that come from balancing school, church, and family.

9- Supportive family and friends make all the difference.

10- We can do hard things!

Congrats on finishing your first year, honey. We love you!
