I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to take a minute to report on our First Christmas together. It was a little bit different for both of us, we both woke up (after a terrible night of sleep) with stuffy noses and ended up exchanging gifts pretty early because neither of us could go back to sleep.
It got better when we went to my mom's house and had a killer Mario Kart Wii tourney, followed by some awesome board games at his family's house. Then... the snow hit.
Cam, his brothers and his dad were outside shoveling for most of the evening and we STILL ended up snowed in and sleeping at Tracy's house. You'd think that the next morning everything would've been plowed and taken care of, but our dear car got stuck about two blocks away from home the next morning. We had to park it in the Thermo Fisher administration parking lot, load up our Christmas presents and WALK HOME.
(By the way, they didn't plow our street until 7:00 that night)
But... it was wonderful to be spending this Christmas together after two years of phone calls.

Finals, Crafts and Cuts
Oh, the hour has come... the week of finals has arrived and soon it will be done and we will enjoy 4 blissful weeks of NO CLASSES!!! I haven't really had a husband this weekend, since he has both chemistry and biology comprehensive finals tomorrow morning, but in just a few short hours he will be mine again! We're both very anxious to actually get into our majors and take classes that don't give us urges to flip the bird at everyone in the room. Yay!
Since my husband WAS preoccupied, on Saturday I went to a Craft Night at my sister in law's parents' house and I am INSPIRED. I would show you the awesome crafts I made, but because one is a gift for my sister, I shall have to wait until after Christmas to show it off. I've never been totally into crafts, and it's probably because I've never really had the opportunity to do them, but I want to be now. I've gone so far as to covet after Carolyn's Cricut.
There were some slight setbacks since, of course, I can't do anything completely perfect and there always has to be setbacks. The rotary cutter. My mother quilts, ok? She has taught me some things and I've even made a blanket or two in my day, so I am EXPERIENCED with the rotary cutter. Except not when it comes to replacing the blade, which resulted in a lovely little nick on my thumb. Not a big deal, but it did bleed a lot. Also, I'm used to cutting FABRIC. NOT balsam (?) wood. Rotary cutters can (and DO) slip on occasion. I had just recovered from my first nick, and then I slipped while cutting the wood and got a lovely little gash on my hand. TWO TIMES. With the one piece of equipment I am familiar with. So it goes.
But- it was a fun night. Thanks, Carolyn, for giving me inspiration to start a new hobby and being my craft buddy.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
