I Love. My Major.

Yes, people, it can happen!! You CAN find a major that you love! It hit me the other day when I went to pick up one of my graded projects. I caught a glimpse of the MATERIALS ROOM. Shelves upon shelves of textile, wood, carpet, paint and window treatment samples.

I experienced a sudden urge to drop everything I was doing and spend hours just LOOKING at all the pretty samples.
I think I found my major.

Also... I gotta show you this stuff, because I loved it. Recently, Salt Lake became home to a firm that has a contract with an Italy-based company called Poliform.* It is the coolest, most modern, and clean stuff you will find. Two VIP reps came down to speak to one of my classes. Some examples...

kitchens...

closets...

bedrooms... and more!

Is anyone else feeling the urge to rip out their kitchens and bedrooms and start from scratch?? Just me, then??
Well, honestly, for anyone that has seen my Grandparents Wilson's home, you know how awesome the exterior is. Kind of a mix between modern, but with a very earthy nature feel. I was sitting in this presentation, just ITCHING to get my hands on their interior and do some mod, "poliform" inspired space. IT WOULD BE SO COOL. So, if you're looking to finance a house revamp someday... gimme a ring.

*Showroom on West Temple... check it out!!

Help...

Alright, so I have a dress, a very pretty, long veil, and a sparkly tiara, but I have no clue how I'm going to do my hair!! Anyone have any thoughts?? I have some hair extensions that I could dye so I could wear it long and curly and down, OR I'm liking the idea of an updo, but I don't know... Any thoughts??

A couple of ideas I liked...

Engagements!

We had our engagements done a couple weeks ago by Bodie Brower, and he was amazing! It was so much fun and he did such a great job! Look how cute my boy looks!

Wedding updates: We got announcements done today (yay!) so those will be going out sometime next week. My dress will be done next week (doubt yay!) and we're just counting down the days! One month to go!

It's a Scam! It's a Scam! [Punch List Part Deux]

I guess you'd call these one of those "life lessons" everyone keeps telling me about. One of those "I was stupid last year and now it's coming to bite me in the butt" things. Well, I guess most scams work that way, eh?

So here's the deal: When I ordered Proactive last year, they had a little "Try Vitapower for only $3!" thing that I clicked on. I figured, "Hey, I'm a poor college student who's not eating right, maybe a vitamin supplement will be good for me." Here's the thing- after I got that $3 sample try, they started charging me $34.99 for it every couple of months... I swear, it was like they monitored my account and charged it everytime I didn't have enough money in my account so I would overdraft. (Or maybe I was just really poor...) Of course, I was too stupid to notice that I actually wasn't GETTING the stuff they were charging me for, and I had never actually ORDERED the supplements. Until now. Almost a year later. So... BEWARE THE VITAPOWER SCAM!! Now I have to go into the bank and file a fraud claim to get my money back! Meh.

Punch List-

#1- Vitapower. A big old junk-punch. Maybe a junk-kick would be better.

#2- Proactiv. Why haven't they picked up on this and why aren't they doing anything about it?? I wonder if they're getting a cut of the money. IT'S STOLEN, PEOPLE! THAT'S ILLEGAL.

#3- The man who thought up the first scam. This would be a junk-punch as well.

Six Weeks To Go...

Cam and I had a conversation last night that went a little like this...

C: Let's just elope.
H: I wish we could, but our families wouldn't be pleased. [sarcastically] We could get married fall break. [pause]... We could get married fall break. I'm only half kidding here.

(A couple hours of working things out and some good prayers later...)

H: This could work. We can do this.
C: I feel really good about this. Let's do it.

That's right, folks! We are getting married in SIX WEEKS! Today was a complete whirlwind but SUCH a blessing. The temple had a reasonable time open to be booked, Hamilton's was available, I got flowers worked about, and we are still getting the awesome photographer we wanted!!! Yay for the Gospel and how it provides for us.

Thank you to our families for all of their love and support!

*sidenote- my camera cord is still missing somewhere within the depths the stuff in moving. It will be found, and I'll have a nice blog post with lots of pictures!
